The Institute of Civil Engineers event in Preston on the 6th of March, will be focused on “Temporary Works for Demolition” and will feature short case studies on a number of significant demolition schemes that Andun have delivered temporary works design and demolition sequencing services.
Andun have been involved with temporary works required for explosive demolition, pre-weakening, pull-downs, high reach demolition, dismantling, and top-down demolition of projects across the UK and as far afield as New Zealand.
Case studies that will be covered in the presentation will include
- Partial demolition of Birmingham New Street Station;
- Tottenham Hotspur FC stadium demolition;
- Waterloo International Redevelopment works;
The presentation will feature photos, videos and technical discussion on the schemes.
It will also feature particularly interesting engineering solutions from other smaller schemes, particularly where we have videos of large structures being collapsed in a controlled manner.
There will also be a section covering temporary works failures, and any learning that can be taken from this.
