TWICKENHAM

Andun were originally appointed by the demolition contractor to produce Network rail submissions covering the demolition of a large section of Twickenham station. The works included the removal of 3No. Bridges, stair cases and platform structures.

Following the works Andun became involved in the construction of the new station, residential and commercial development. The development is a significant new structure (the size of 5 tennis court) over and adjacent to the railway. We were involved with:

  1. The temporary works to construct the new foundations
  2. The erection sequence for the precast columns and bridge deck, including stability assessments;
  3. Temporary hoardings;
  4. Formwork designs;
  5. Formwork checks;
  6. Back propping;
  7. F002/03 submissions.

We had an Engineer working directly on site with the construction teams for a number of months to ensure that the tight timescales could be met, and that designs could be adapted to suit site conditions.

A large part of our works was taking the formwork designs produced by proprietary suppliers and tidying up loose ends such as fixings, proving stability, etc. before formatting and submitting the packages to Network Rail for acceptance.
